In his sermon on Sunday, Mike discussed a popular thought about anger and murder. When confronted with sin, many people say, “At least I didn’t murder anyone,” as if sin can be rated on a scale of 1-10.

But Jesus tells us otherwise in Matthew 5:21-22.

“You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.”

Anger isn’t something we should just sweep under the rug. It’s painful. And it can affect those around us in terrible ways.

Below are some questions to ponder this week.

- Who are you angry with right now in your life?

- Why has their behavior affected you in this way?

- What steps will you take to deal with your anger this week?

- If you need help, who will you go to?
